Barbados’ lone animal feed manufacturer Pinnacle Feeds has increased the cost of their feed by around three percent from today.
Earlier this year government negotiated with Pinnacle Feeds to provide a subsidy to help keep feed prices down but that subsidy has expired.
Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Agricultural Society, James Paul’ says this price hike was expected.
Mr. Paul says it is possible that consumers will have to pay more for poultry but farmers will try their best to limit any increases.
