Three test positive for COVID-19 at airport

Intense contact tracing has commenced after three of the personnel at the Grantley Adams International Airport tested positive for COVID-19, including a medical doctor.
Starcom Network News understands that one of the doctors conducting the swabbing for COVID-19 tests has returned a positive test along with three members of staff involved in the greeting process. Efforts are on to establish their primary contacts and also to try to trace the source of the infection.

Meantime, sources have indicated that the member of the West Indies cricket squad that tested positive for COVID-19 is the team manager.
The positive result caused the postponement of the 2nd one-day international that was to be played at the Kensington Oval here in Barbados.
Starcom has also learnt that officials are concerned that while a majority of the visiting Australian and Pakistani cricketers are vaccinated only a minority of the West Indies players have opted to take the vaccine.
