Common Entrance Delay

The Barbados Secondary Schools Entrance Exam, called the common entrance, is scheduled for July 28th, a two month delay.

Minister of Education Santia Bradshaw made the announcement during a news conference this morning.

Ms. Bradshaw says that a readiness assessment conducted in schools last month showed many students are not yet ready.

She added that the exam still has to take place as it’s the sole method right now for moving the students on to secondary school.

Acting Chief Education Officer Joy Adamson outlined the conclusions coming out of the readiness assessment.
