The COVID-19 monitoring unit is planning this week a major crackdown on public service vehicle (PSV) operators who fail to comply with the health protocols.
Director of the unit Ronald Chapman describes the PSV sector as a major problem in the battle to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Mr. Chapman was speaking to Starcom Network News today, following a statement by education minister Santia Bradshaw at the weekend on protocols for the reopening of schools later this month.
Mr. Bradshaw said public transport is a concern and Mr. Chapman agrees.
Mr. Chapman says the PSV operators could be pulled off the road temporarily or even charged.
