Two-week-old twin babies have died after reportedly being suffocated by their mother who fell asleep while breastfeeding at a Christ Church residence.
The police say that last night after ten o’clock they responded to a report at Rendezvous Terrace and on arrival discovered the bodies of two babies.
The newborns lived at the residence with their parents and other relatives.
A police statement says both babies were being breastfed by their mother when she allegedly fell asleep leaning forward in a position which caused her breast to block their airways. A medical doctor pronounced death about 11:21pm.
