Republic Bank tests employees after interaction with COVID-19 positive customer

Staff at one branch of Republic Bank Limited had to be tested for COVID-19 on account of a positive customer, however, they have all tested negative.

In an official response from the bank, it was said that on Tuesday, May 26th, Management was officially informed by a health officer that a customer who visited the Broad Street Branch sometime during the course of last week had tested positive for COVID-19.

The bank says it took immediate action informing staff of the branch and elsewhere across its network.

It added that upon the advice of the health authorities, arrangements were made for all staff at the branch to be tested.

This testing was done in two batches, the first set on Wednesday 27th, and a final set is scheduled for tomorrow.

The statement said, “We are very happy to report that all the tests completed on Wednesday were negative. The Bank has also extended the option for testing to any staff member who may have been in the Broad Street Branch during the last two weeks.”

The Bank is continuing to practice intense sanitization in all areas and minimize interaction between departments. All members of the Republic Team stringently adhere to the use of PPE and personal hygiene protocols.

Republic Bank’s security personnel are also ensuring that all customers entering the bank are fully compliant and Masks must be worn and physical distancing rules maintained.
