Taxi Driver on bail

A taxi driver who appeared to mimic a seizure as he was being arrested by a police officer at the Bridgetown Port has been slapped with a list of charges and released on bail after appearing in court today.

The arrest was caught on video and made the rounds on social media showing an exchange between the police office and the taxi driver whose body appeared to go stiff and motionless when he was arrested.

Starcom Network News understands an ambulance was summoned to the scene but the man appeared to have no medical issues.

Subsequently, police in the Bridgetown Division arrested and formally charged 47-year-old Carl Hinds 47 years of #49 Lodge Hill Crescent, Lodge Hill, St. Michael with resisting arrest, abusive language, insulting language and trespass.

He appeared today at the District ‘A’ Criminal Court before Magistrate Douglas Frederick where he pleaded not guilty to all the charges. He was granted bail in the sum of 25 hundred dollars with one surety and is scheduled to reappear at the same court on the 7th of July.
