A St. Michael fire victim is claiming arson after his residence was destroyed by fire today.
51 year-old-postal worker, Rodney Holford, was rendered homeless by the blaze at Golden Rock, in the Pine, this morning.
The fire service from Probyn Street Headquarters responded to the fire around 9 AM with two fire tenders and eight officers.
Mr. Holford, who had lived in the house since he was a child, said he was only able to save a lounge chair and the clothes on his back.
He was unsure of how the fire started but said that it originated at the back of the house. And he suspects it was deliberately set.
