Bad odours at Bridgetown Sewage Treatment Plant

BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS: The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) says it experienced a glitch with one of the blowers at the Bridgetown Sewage Treatment Plant during the late evening of Saturday, January 12th.
As a result, some malodours are being experienced in the immediate vicinity of the Plant.
A release this morning from the Authority said they have made some adjustments to its operations at the Plant and this has worked to reduce the odours and get the situation under control.
“The BWA will continue to monitor the situation while it works towards getting another blower operational within the next forty-eight (48) hours.”
“The Barbados Water Authority sincerely apologises to its customers in the areas surrounding the Bridgetown Plant who may have been affected by the odours,” the release added. (ROG/PR)
