Smoke from a large grass fire at Bushy Park, St. Philip has spread westward across the country forcing the closure of at least sixteen schools.
The smoke from the blaze was visible from early this morning and the Barbados Fire Service confirms that up to this afternoon the fire was still going.
Chief Education Officer, Dr. Ramona Archer-Bradshaw, tells Starcom Network News the affected schools are mostly in St. Michael and St. George.
