Members of the Barbados Police Service are to get a pay hike and special consideration for government housing as part of efforts to improve the terms and conditions for the officers.
This has been disclosed by Attorney General, Dale Marshall, as the estimates debate commenced in the House of Assembly today.
In his presentation Mr. Marshall notes the significant increase in gun violence while promising determined efforts to deal with it but stressing that it requires everyone in the country to play a part.
Mr. Marshall has also defended government’s peace programs while admitting that issues of concern were flagged and giving the assurance that measures have been put in place to ensure careful oversight.
