Family grieves for crash victim

27-year-old Ramon Ryan Arthur Power is Barbados’ latest road fatality.

Starcom Network News visited relatives at Groves Hill, St. George this morning, a short distance away from where the accident occurred.

Close family and friends were gathered and father, Michael Power told Starcom Network News it was an ordeal he never expected.

The collision occurred about 2:30 am along Paradise Road, St. George and involved a double-cab motor van.

According to a police statement, the double cab was travelling along Paradise Road going in the direction of Applewaites when the driver overtook a vehicle, lost control, crashed and was thrown from his vehicle.

Ambulance personnel were summoned to the scene but found no signs of life.

The front and rear seat passengers complained of injury and were transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.
