The Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) has launched a campaign to secure the future of Barbados’ main income earner.
Lawrence T. Gay Primary was the first in a list of 79 primary schools to be part of the new Tourism Awareness campaign.
In his address on Tuesday, Minister of Tourism and International Transport Ian Gooding-Edghill emphasized the importance of the initiative and told students the industry could provide life changing opportunities for them in their future.
On hand was also Chairman of the BTMI Shelly Williams, who told Starcom Network News it was critical that education about the industry took root as early as possible within the curriculum.
