A primary school student has been seriously injured after being struck by a car at President Kennedy Drive this afternoon.

The accident happened just after school ended at 3 pm.

Security footage from a nearby building shows the child being violently catapulted through the air after being struck by the car.

The boy, a student of Westbury Primary, was said to be crossing the road when the incident occurred.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance.
