An autistic man has been hospitalized after reportedly being stabbed and robbed in the area of the Cheapside market this morning.

The incident happened about 7 a.m. and vendors ran to assist the man, who is said to be in his twenties, as he was trying to fight off at least two men who were said to be armed with knives and sticks.

One of the vendors who asked that her name be withheld, told Starcom Network News the young man was left in a bad state.
