Residents of Chapel Gap Payne’s Bay St. James are alarmed over a recent early morning robbery, and the upsurge in crime overall.

The incident, which occurred last week, was captured by a security camera and the video has been making rounds on social media with many people voicing concern over the incident.

The viral video shows a woman standing in front of a minimart when she was approached by a group of men and was violently attacked and robbed. At least one of the men had a gun.

When Starcom Network News visited the area, one of the residents recalled hearing the cries of the victim who was on her way to a gym when she was attacked.

Another resident wants to a see a neighborhood watch set up in that community.

Residents said they understand that the perpetrators have been apprehended, but this is yet to be confirmed by the police.
