The Transport Board is urging Barbadians to be on guard against scammers claiming to sell what they call “smart pass travel cards” to gain access to the service.

In a statement the Board revealed that within the last 48 hours there has been a noticeable increase in phishing scams on Facebook.

Chief Operations Officer, Lynda Holder tells Starcom Network News she wants Barbadians to avoid using a fake Facebook page which is requiring people to pay money to a travel card.

She stressed they will continue to monitor and upgrade their online platforms.

Meanwhile, The Barbados Postal Service says that posts circulating on social media purporting that it has lost items for sale are untrue, and is urging Barbadians not to fall for these schemes.
