Members of the Barbados Union of Teachers are being summoned to a special general meeting in January to report on the results of a probe into the finances of the organization.
Starcom Network News has learnt that an investigation was launched on the orders of the membership attending the union’s last general conference in April after the audited financial statements identified discrepancies.
A well placed BUT source says that the investigation has been extensive and is ongoing.
The BUT executive has scheduled a meeting for next month to report to the general membership on the findings.
They would only say that it is a financial matter that has been under investigation.
