The Barbados Government has signed a 500 Million dollar credit agreement with the Export- Import Bank of the United States.
Speaking at Government Headquarters this morning, President and Chair of the EXIM Bank Reta Jo Leiws said the organization was no stranger to the Caribbean and would offer critical support for small and large projects.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley outlined the key areas where the funding will be allocated. She highlighted Cybersecurity, Renewable Energy, Water and Sanitation and Maritime Domain Awareness.
She said this agreement also indicates the confidence Barbados is regaining in the global market and the areas outlined are in need of critical attention.
