Some hotels see spike in bookings ahead of World Cup

Some hoteliers are reporting increased bookings with some occupancy rates over 80 percent so far as the island prepares to host the finals of the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup.

Monique Graham of Yellow Bird Hotel tells Starcom Network News this year’s bookings have surpassed that of the same period last year.

She said the hotel is fully booked for the days during which Barbados is set to host the finals.

Meantime Group Sales and Marketing Manager of Little Good Harbour, Javon Griffith said the hotel is just over 50 percent booked however he believes this is due to several people seeking Airbnb and private accommodations.
