Prime Minister Mia Mottley has announced plans for an open-day at Kensington Oval along with a town hall meeting next week to showcase the improvements at the Oval and to answer the public’s questions and get feedback about next month’s ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup, the finals of which will be staged here.

Miss Mottley was speaking during a news briefing at Ilaro Court where she also spoke of plans for a national clean-up over the next two weekends and urged Barbadians to be welcoming hosts for those arriving for the event.

She stressed the importance of the entire country ensuring a warm welcome for the visitors.

Miss Mottley also disclosed that local authorities were instructed to negotiate with the ICC better rates for local vendors so they could also benefit from the event
