Hundreds of Liberians, descendants of Barbadians who emigrated in the eighteen hundreds, are in Barbados this week on a pilgrimage.
Ambassador Llewellyn Witherspoon, the organizer of the Sankofa Pilgrimage to Barbados, tells Starcom Network News the idea was born out of research he was undertaking into his ancestral heritage and a resulting conversation he had with Barbados Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley.
He says more than four hundred Liberians are expected to be in Barbados this week.
