This country’s bankers want the removal of a number of bottlenecks, they say are slowing the approval of mortgages and commercial loans and hindering the development of the renewal energy sector.

Speaking on behalf of the Barbados Bankers Association, CIBC’s Managing Director for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Donna Wellington, expressed the hope that the budget will address some of these areas of concern.

Ms. Wellington also notes that there are 500 million dollars in renewable energy projects but that there are hurdles to overcome to release the economic potential of this industry.
