Government has promised a crackdown on lawlessness by route taxi and minibus drivers as a government minister responds to accusations that the operators are being protected by what some members of the public have been alleging are connections in high places.
The PSV sector has again come under heavy criticism after a series of videos circulated showing a route taxi driver operating in a manner that alarmed many members of the public.
St. Peter resident Sylvestine Rock referred to the matter at last evening’s St. Peter Speaks town hall session.
Minister of Home Affairs and Information, Wilfred Abrahams, denied that there are any such connections in the current government.
He stressed the administration’s determination to deal with the PSV lawlessness.
