The date for this year’s Common Entrance Exam has been tentatively set for the first Tuesday in May, May 7th, but the Barbados Union of Teachers, complains that it wasn’t consulted on the matter and wants that date pushed back.
Parents attending the first of a series of Ministry of Education town hall meetings on the Barbados Secondary Schools Entrance Exam were told the exam may be held on May 7th.
The Barbados Union of Teachers says it was not officially informed of the town hall session.
President of the BUT, Rudy Lovell also says teachers prefer the exam to be held in June as students from several schools were affected by environmental issues and other challenges and could benefit from the extra time.
