The Salvation Army is seeing a significant increase in the number of people seeking assistance this year compared to previous years.

Chairman of the Salvation Army Advisory Board, Paul Bernstein said this increase continues to put financial pressure on the organization.

He was speaking this morning during their Christmas Kettle Appeal launching ceremony at Golden Square Freedom Park.
