Barbados has signed a loan agreement for 25 million US dollars to refurbish Kensington Oval in preparation for the Cricket World Cup next year.
The loan was borrowed at a 7 per cent interest rate for a period of 7 years.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley said the loan will also be for the development of the sport and for the establishment of indoor facilities to help cricketers improve their skills.
She made the announcement during the opening ceremony of the two-day AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum in Guyana.
