Barbados’ covid-19 positivity rate has drastically declined with hospitalization also low signaling the post-Crop Over surge has receded.
The latest Covid-19 update from the ministry of health shows that over the two week period from September 16th to September 29th just 36 cases were recorded from 379 tests.
This represents a positivity rate of about 9.5 percent compared to the more than thirty percent at the height of the Covid-19 surge.
There were eight deaths recorded over the two-week period but only four people remained hospitalized at the Harrison Point isolation facility.
Minister of State in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Sonia Browne, describes the trend as encouraging but urges the public to continue to take precautions.
Dr. Browne warns against complacency despite the decline in covid numbers.
