Oistins Food Stall Dispute Resolved

Both sides have voiced satisfaction with the outcome after the intervention of acting Prime Minister Santia Bradshaw who settled a dispute over a food retail shop at Oistins Bay Garden in Christ Church.

The deal brokered, headed off what was set to be a battle in the high court.

National women’s cricketer Monique Best had been fighting to retain control of the food business that had been previously operated by her late adopted mother.

However, the National Conservation Commission had ordered her evicted.

At a news briefing this morning at Oistins, the acting Prime Minister announced that Miss Best would be allowed to keep the stall.

MP for the area, Senior Counsel Ralph Thorne who has been representing Miss Best is happy about the outcome.

He pointed out that he had been determined to fight the matter in court and thanked the news media for highlighting the matter.          

Miss Best also stated her satisfaction with the resolution of the dispute

         

Kemar Harris, the Chairman of the Oistins Bay Garden Committee and to who whom the disputed food stall was to be allocated has been promised another shop as a compromise.

He too is happy with the outcome and apologized to Miss Best for how the events played out.
