Wyndham Grand Resort to Increase Airlift into Barbados

Government officials are confident that the soon-to-be-opened Wyndham Grand Resort could help them increase airlift into the country.

This assurance came from Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Ian Gooding Edghill who was speaking during a site visit at the 400-hundred room St. Philip Hotel.

He believes this and several other projects that are set to come on stream provide several benefits for the country’s economy.

Meantime, Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley said she is pleased with the level of interest that government has been seeing from investors.

She however noted that the country may not have enough space for more hotels across the island, and said the country must focus on other projects that can increase tourism revenue.

She highlighted plans to set up a campus of the Florida International University here.

Following Miss Mottley’s tour of the facility, she explained that they will be working to address any possible challenges before the resort’s soft opening in October.
