Maurice Byer Clinic Nurses Off The Job

Nurses at the Maurice Byer Polyclinic in St. Peter have been off the job today over a number of grievances but especially the environmental conditions in the building.

Several of the nurses could be seen standing outside the facility.

When Starcom Network News contacted the administration of the Polyclinic they said the clinic was open and that the doctors were on duty but referred to us to the Chief Medical Officer for any further comment.

Meantime, the CMO told us he would investigate the matter.

One of the nurses spoke to Starcom Network News and listed a series of concerns. She didn’t want to be identified and we disguised her voice.

The nurse says that’s the key issue but is not the only problem.

The nurses are also complaining about what they say has been the non-payment of covid-19 hazard pay.
