A major effort is now on to identify and locate the hit and run driver who struck and killed a 19-year-old female who was hit from behind while walking along a St. Philip road last night.

The deceased is Quiara Callendar of Nursery #2, Four Roads, St. Philip.

Around 8 30 last night she was walking along Rice’s main road in the company of 24-year-old Roberta Hall who also lives at Nursery #2.
Both were struck from behind by a vehicle. That vehicle did not stop. Quiara took the brunt of the impact and was pronounced dead at the QEH just after 9 30 pm.

Roberto was treated and discharged.
