Donville Inniss Freed From Prison; Deported to Barbados

Former Barbados Member of Parliament and cabinet minister Donville Inniss is now a free man and is due to arrive in Barbados tonight.

Usually reliable sources tell Starcom Network News that Mr. Inniss has been released from a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE, detention centre and will be on a flight that leaves Miami later today and arrives in Barbados tonight.

In April of 2021, Mr. Inniss, was sentenced to 24 months in US federal prison after being convicted of two counts of money laundering and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering.

The former St. James South MP was a U.S. legal permanent resident who resided in Tampa, Florida, and Barbados.

Non-US citizens convicted of felonies are subject to losing their residency status and being deported to the land of their birth.

Earlier this year Mr. Inniss was transferred from a US federal prison to an ICE detention centre pending his release and deportation.
