A Bridgetown stall owner was distraught after his business was gutted by fire in the early hours of this morning, even as he suggested the blaze might have been deliberately set.
The Barbados Fire Service said it responded to the fire at the Constitution River Terminal at River Road, St. Michael, at two minutes past two this morning.
When Starcom Network News visited the scene a red gas can was on the ground close to the fire-damaged stall.
Nelroy Calderon, a vending stall owner who was in the area at the time of the incident says he saw two people running from behind the affected stall just before he heard a loud explosion.
Owner of the destroyed stall, Tyson Horne, says he lost hundreds of dollars in stock and equipment in the blaze.
He hinted that the fire might be a case of arson due to jealousy but insisted he would not be deterred.
