RSPCA Wants Strict Regulations for Illegal Animals

The RSPCA wants stricter regulations to be put in place to control and monitor exotic and illegal animals being smuggled into the country.

Chief inspector at the RSPCA, Wayne Norville says the illegal importation of exotic species can pose a threat to the food security of the country.

Mr. Norville says there is need for pet shop laws in Barbados and a registration list of all exotic pet owners.

He added this could be a reason why owners do not come forward when their snakes or other pets escape.
