President of the Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners (BAMP) Dr. Lynda Williams said chronic diseases continue to rise in Barbados.

She was speaking on VOB’s Better Health program yesterday where the discussion was centered on the long-term effects of COVID-19.

Dr. Williams said a number of Barbadians who had shown early signs of chronic diseases before the pandemic neglected to take care of themselves at the height of the pandemic.

This she said, presented a challenge to the country’s health care system

Dr. Williams stressed that this can have a long-term effect on the country’s health care system
