Concern After Supermarket Attack

A Bridgetown businessman calls for stricter penalties for criminals as he complains that offenders are too quickly back on the streets if caught and punished.

General Manager of Lionel C. Hill Supermarket, Gerhard Ashby was commenting on a recent incident captured in a viral security camera video where a cashier at the business place was assaulted by a man, in what is believed to have been a botched robbery attempt. The video shows a man grabbing the cashier around the neck while another staff was distracted. Mr. Ashby says it’s the latest in a series of such incidents.

 

 

Mr. Ashby recounted the latest event.

 

 

Mr. Ashby stresses that he has constantly enhanced security but believes more needs to be done to apprehend and deter such offenders.
