Covid cases close electoral department

A week after the general elections, the Barbados Electoral Office has been closed after some of the staff tested positive for covid-19.

Chairman of the Electoral and Boundaries Commission, Leslie Haynes, confirmed this development in an interview with Starcom Network News where he provided a review of the election that he says otherwise went relatively smoothly.

Mr. Haynes also disclosed that due to a mix-up, some of the election workers were unable to vote.

Mr. Haynes apologized for the foul-up.
