Man With Mental History Charged With Murder

A 43 year old St. Andrew man with a reported mental history has been charged for the murder of an elderly relative that occurred almost three months ago.

Brian Alleyne of Babylon Road, Belleplaine, is accused of killing 88 year old Rupert Alleyne of the same district on May 28th.

The elderly man had been discovered dead, lying in a pool of blood at his residence.

The accused had been detained and was subjected to a psychiatric evaluation.

He appeared today before Magistrate Douglas Frederick at the District ‘B’ Magistrates Court, at Blackmans, St Joseph and was not required to plead to the charge which is indictable.

He is scheduled to reappear at the District ‘F’  Court sitting at Cane Garden, St. Thomas on Monday 13th September.
