Chairman of CARICOM and Antigua’s Prime Minister, Gaston Browne has urged member states to mobilise its assistance in helping Haiti to recover.

This follows the death of about 1 thousand 297 people as a result of the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that struck Haiti on Saturday.

His comments came during the installation ceremony of CARICOM’s eighth Secretary General, Dr. Carla Barnett.

Mr. Browne promised that CARICOM will assist Haiti in its recovery efforts.
