A leading insurance executive has expressed concern about the extent of damage to houses in Barbados from category one Hurricane Elsa and has called for urgent enforcement of the building code.
Chief Executive Office of Trident Insurance, David Alleyne, strongly believes that properly built homes in Barbados should have been able to withstand storms of Elsa’s strength.
Mr. Alleyne insists that compliance with the code shouldn’t be optional.
