Trade unionist Senator Caswell Franklyn has filed in the supreme court a law suit challenging the government’s covid-19 directives.
Senator Franklyn argues that the directives are invalid as they were not approved by parliament.
He believes some of the measures are necessary but doesn’t think the government went about it the right way.
Senator Franklyn also believes that people convicted for violation of these measures should seek compensation.
Attorney-at-law Neil Marshall says many affected individuals and businesses have contacted him about bringing cases against the government but he has told them to wait until the supreme court rules on the matter.
