Former Senior Vice President of ICBL, Alex Tasker, has been released on bail after appearing in the District A Magistrate’s Court this morning.
He was taken into custody by the Barbados police following an extradition request from US Federal authorities in connection with the fraud case against former Barbados government minister DonvilleInniss.

Mr. Tasker was one of two named co-conspirators indicted by US federal prosecutors in connection with the case. The other alleged co-conspirator, a former ICBL CEO, is reportedly nolonger resident in Barbados.
In January this year, Mr. Inniss, a former Barbados minister of commerce and industry, was found guilty by a US federal jury in New York for his role in an alleged scheme to launder bribes paid to him by ICBL executives.
According to the evidence presented at trial, in 2015 and 2016, Mr. Inniss allegedly took part in a scheme to launder in the US approximately 36 thousand US dollars in bribes he received from high-level executives at ICBL.
