Barbados authorities have formally written minibus and ZR owners and operators, warning them that their permits could be suspended for a week if they are caught flouting the covid 19 protocols, and drivers and conductors could be fined or even jailed for disobeying or disrespecting officials of the COVID-19 Monitoring Unit.
This after the head of the unit, Ronald Chapman, highlighted the PSV sector as one of the least compliant with the protocols.
But the operators say the biggest problem is getting the passengers to comply.
Chairman of the Association of Public Transport Operators Kenneth Best urges the PSV operators to comply with the covid19 protocols but says there are challenges in enforcing the measures.
