The St. Leonard’s School remains closed today and school authorities promise to increase security after what reports indicate was a burglary by armed men at the school in early hours of this morning.
Sources associated with school told Starcom Network that around 5 am, four armed, masked, men attempted to steal the schools safe, but left empty-handed after the safe proved too heavy to lift. No one was injured.
Chairman of the school’s board Chris Gibbs tells Starcom Network News he’s unable to confirm all the details of what transpired as investigations are ongoing, but says a burglary did take place forcing classes to be cancelled for today.
Mr. Gibbs promised a review of security at the school.
