September 3, 2020, is the date when Jamaicans will head to the polls to elect their next government.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness made the announcement Tuesday during a statement in the House of Representatives.
Nomination Day will be Tuesday, August 18.
The 2020 campaign will be one of the shortest ever and will pit the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) against the Opposition People’s National Party (PNP) led by former finance minister Dr Peter Phillip.
The announcement ends months of heightened speculation about when Holness would ‘call it’. (Loop Jamaica)
