Close to 500 members of the National Union of Public Workers have agreed to accept government’s Barbados Optional Saving Scheme.
This followed a general meeting at its Dalkeith Road Headquarters last night where public officers were invited to decide on whether they would sign on to the Barbados Optional Savings Scheme.
President, Akanni McDowell told Starcom Network News they had more than the required constitutional number for the resolution to pass.
When asked if the number in attendance would not create issues given that full membership is 8,000, Mr. McDowall said, they did not go against their constitution.
