PDP wants Oral Williams to pay up before he retires

The Opposition People’s Party for Development says it will not support the appointment of Oral Williams as a second Deputy Commissioner of Police. It’s calling for all remuneration paid to him, to be repaid to the treasury before he demits office next year.

Spokesperson on Law and Order, Maria Phillips told the media that while the party’s position has nothing to do with the competence of Mr. Williams, the appointment is a blatant disregard for the rule of law and lack of transparency for parliamentary procedures by the government.

Opposition Leader,  Bishop Joseph Atherley says the PDP will take part in the debate if and when the matter is brought to Parliament but will remain firm in its position.
