The prevalence of violence against women and girls in the region was the subject of a survey conducted in five Caribbean countries.
The study was conducted in Grenada, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica and Guyana, between 2016 and 2018.
Isiuwa Iyahen is the representative of the UN Women’s multi country office for the Caribbean and says the survey showed some alarming figures of violence against women.
