Antigua’s Prime Minister Gaston Browne has announced plans to re-launch intra-regional airline LIAT 2020, by November this year.
Speaking on his weekend radio programme Mr. Browne said that his Government is prepared to invest between 15 and 20 million US dollars in the new venture and is seeking to negotiate an agreement with private Nigerian airline, Air Peace who are principals of the new venture.
Browne said LIAT 2020 is a completely different entity from LIAT 1974 Limited which will be placed into liquidation and its assets will be bought by the new airline.
He hopes the other countries in the region will participate in the new venture.
